March 6th Guest Speaker Elaine Farmer

Elaine Farmer is our Guest Speaker for March,

Needle Felting is a relatively new craft and was only invented in the 1980’s. Needle felting is a process of matting down wool or other fibers, using specially designed
sharp barbed needles. Needle felting offers me a way to create a two-dimensional artwork with the added forms of three dimensional elements within the two dimensional
artwork. If you are curious about the process, the answers can be found at this introduction to needle felting presentation.

Bio: As a traditional landscape oil painter for over 50 years, Elaine discovered needle felting as a new medium in 2019, offering her a way to capture the
multitudes of textures found in nature. Her designs are original works, and many are inspired and replicated by her own paintings.

Elaine is a juried member and exhibitor of New Hampshire Art Association League of New Hampshire Craftsmen Hannah Grimes Marketplace, Keene, NH WREN Works in Bethlehem, NH
